Half-Life movement with Minecraft crafting and equipment
HalfCraft keeps native Half-Life movement, maps, enemies and campaign logic. Minecraft supplies inventory, crafting, block building, equipment, health and hunger. The author documents Minecraft blocks that stop native enemies, bullets and sight traces. Renewable resource mining does not cut holes in Half-Life’s map. This is sogutemir’s project, separate from SawyerTheNerd’s Minecraft X Half-Life. The author reports bounded live checks, while full-campaign acceptance remains incomplete.
What you need
Windows, your own Half-Life and an authenticated Minecraft Java account. The documented source build needs Visual Studio 2022 C++ tools (v143 and Windows SDK), Python and Java 25. Its Fabric configuration uses Minecraft 26.3, Fabric Loader 0.19.5 and Fabric API 0.161.0+26.3. The author’s dedicated Prism instance sets an 8 GB minimum and 16 GB maximum Java heap; review those settings against your computer’s memory.
What to do while you wait
- Read the current README and roadmap. No precompiled GitHub release was listed on October 14, 2026.
- Review the source-build, deployment and launch scripts. Their example paths and launcher defaults match the author’s development computer.
- Use owned games and normal Microsoft or Mojang authentication. Keep the dedicated Minecraft instance and your existing worlds separate.
- Follow the author’s development controls. I opens inventory; E keeps Half-Life use outside containers.
