DOOM-style combat in Silent Hill 1

SilentDOOM brings DOOM-style movement, weapons, combat and Doomguy presentation into Silent Hill 1. The creator says Silent Hill’s environments, monsters, puzzles, story and cutscenes remain. The ModDB page lists an October 11, 2026 early-access release and a v0.1 download. This is a mod for the Silent Hill PC decompilation, rather than a Silent Hill-themed DOOM map.

What you need

Windows x64 and a working Silent Hill PC Decomp installation with its required game data. You need your own full DOOM 1 or Ultimate DOOM DOOM.WAD. The creator says shareware DOOM1.WAD and DOOM II are unsupported. The exact Silent Hill PC Decomp build is not specified.

How to get started

  1. Read the creator’s v0.1 file page and back up your existing Silent Hill PC installation.
  2. Keep the extracted SilentDOOM subfolder inside the existing SH1PC folder. Do not replace the original game executable.
  3. Follow the author’s Install Silent DOOM Classic.bat instructions to select SilentHillPC.exe and your own DOOM.WAD.
  4. Use Play Silent DOOM Classic.bat and start a new game, as the creator instructs.
The creator calls v0.1 an early release that still needs proper playtesting and checks. The file listing names SilentDOOM-V.0.1.rar, while the instructions call the archive SilentDOOM-Classic.rar. Check the file page and extracted folder before installing. Full completion, controller support and other host builds are not confirmed.
